TruRating shortlisted for Retail Partner of the Year at the People in Retail Awards 2026

people in retail awards 2026

TruRating has been named a finalist in the Retail Partner of the Year category at the People in Retail Awards 2026. The awards celebrate the people, teams, leaders and partners helping to make retail a stronger, more human industry. For TruRating, this nomination is especially meaningful because it recognises not only the technology we build, but the purpose behind it.

This is the second year in a row that TruRating has been shortlisted for Retail Partner of the Year. It is a proud moment for our team and a reflection of the work we do every day to help retailers support their people, listen to more customers and improve performance across every part of the store estate.

Helping retailers hear from more customers

Retail has never had more data. But for many teams, that has not made decision-making easier. Store managers are expected to improve performance, deliver consistent customer experiences and respond quickly to changing customer expectations. Regional leaders need to know where support is needed before issues affect sales. Executives need to understand whether their strategy is really being delivered on the shop floor.

Too often, the tools available to retail teams do not give them that clarity. Traditional surveys can be slow and limited. Dashboards can show what happened after the fact. POS data can show what sold, but not what helped or hurt the customer experience.

TruRating was built to close that gap. Through our patented point-of-payment technology, TruRating helps retailers capture feedback in the moment, at scale. Each rating is connected to a real transaction, giving retailers a representative view of what customers are experiencing by store, shift and moment.

Today, TruRating helps retailers and hospitality operators hear from an average of 84% of customers in-store and 53% online. With more than one billion ratings collected worldwide, our platform turns everyday customer feedback into practical insight that teams can use to improve experience, execution and performance.

From customer voice to retail performance intelligence

Customer feedback matters. But feedback on its own is not enough. Retailers need to know what to do next.

That is why TruRating has evolved from a real-time feedback platform into a retail intelligence partner. Our platform helps retailers understand what is really happening in-store, which behaviours are driving better outcomes and where friction is getting in the way.

This means teams can move from delayed reporting to faster action. Instead of waiting for complaints, quarterly reviews or lagging KPIs, retailers can spot patterns earlier and respond with more confidence.

For store teams, that might mean clearer coaching. For operations leaders, it means better visibility into execution. For customer experience teams, it means a stronger link between customer sentiment and business performance. For executive teams, it means better evidence to support decisions about strategy, investment and rollout.

AI that supports people, not replaces them

As retail enters a new era shaped by AI, our focus is simple: make insight easier to act on. Our latest innovation, TruCoaching, turns customer feedback and transaction data into clear coaching recommendations for retail teams. It helps managers understand which behaviours are making the biggest difference to customer satisfaction, loyalty and spend.

That might mean improving greetings, strengthening product recommendations, identifying availability issues, or helping teams deliver a more consistent store experience.

The goal is not more data. It is better action. TruRating’s AI is designed to support store teams, not overwhelm them. It gives managers clear, human guidance they can use in team huddles, coaching conversations and daily decisions. It helps turn customer voice into small, practical actions that teams can take on the floor.

In a sector where frontline teams are already stretched, this matters. AI should not create more complexity, it should help people focus on what matters most.

A people-first approach to performance

The Retail Partner of the Year category recognises organisations that support retailers with a people-first ethos. That sits at the heart of TruRating.

We believe retail performance improves when the people closest to the customer are empowered to succeed. Store teams need clear signals, not complicated reports. Regional leaders need timely visibility, not filtered anecdotes. Executives need confidence that strategy is landing in the real world, not just in planning meetings.

TruRating helps bring those groups together around one shared view of what is working, where friction is appearing and what to do next.

That same people-first mindset shapes our own culture. Our TruValues guide how we hire, onboard, recognise, develop and work with one another. They influence how we build products, support clients and make decisions as a team.

We also believe feedback should create good beyond the business. Every customer rating contributes to charitable giving, connecting our growth to positive social impact beyond the transaction.

Why this nomination matters

Being shortlisted for Retail Partner of the Year for a second consecutive year is a meaningful milestone for TruRating. It reflects the shift we are seeing across the retail industry. Retailers do not just want more feedback. They want clearer insight, faster action and stronger alignment between customer experience and commercial performance. They want tools that help their people perform better, not tools that create more work.

That is the future TruRating is building towards. A future where customer voice is representative, timely and connected to the decisions retail teams make every day. A future where insight is not trapped in dashboards. A future where teams can see what is happening, act where it matters and keep improving.

A word from Georgina Nelson

“We’re incredibly proud to be shortlisted for Retail Partner of the Year for the second year in a row. Retail is, and always will be, a people business. Our job is to help retailers hear from more customers, understand what is really happening in-store and give their teams the confidence to act.

AI has huge potential in retail, but only if it makes work simpler and more human. That is what we are focused on at TruRating. We want to help store teams coach better, move faster and deliver the experiences customers remember.

This recognition means a lot because it speaks to the heart of why TruRating exists. We believe that when retailers listen better, teams perform better, customers feel it, and the whole business benefits.”

Georgina Nelson, CEO & Founder of TruRating
