Hay brings more than four decades of experience at the forefront of the customer data revolution in retail. As the first employee of dunnhumby, he played a foundational role in the development of Tesco Clubcard, one of the most influential loyalty programs in retail history. He later led the expansion of dunnhumby into the U.S. through its landmark partnership with Kroger, and ultimately served as Group CEO, working alongside some of the world’s most recognized retailers and CPG brands.
Throughout his career, Hay has been known for driving transformation at the intersection of data, strategy, and culture – helping retailers unlock measurable business outcomes through deeper customer understanding and monetizing their data through insight and media.
His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for TruRating, as retailers increasingly seek to connect customer experience directly to business performance metrics such as conversion, basket size, loyalty, and lifetime value.
